Practical Information

Travelling to a place far far away has some consequences. Pants get shorter, hats appear and you start living in stead of being online. We would like you to experience as much Namibia as you can during your stay. To start your preparation for this journey, we’ve gathered some practical information in one easy to read page. Be sure to contact us if you feel that there is information missing or if you still have questions and remember: Namibia is Africa for beginners!

Visa & Passport

To enter Namibia, a passport valid for 6 months from date of entry with one blank page is required by all nationalities. If you require a visa, you must have at least 3 blank pages in your Passport. Visas for Namibia are not required for stays of up to 3 months if visiting Namibia for holiday (or weddings) with the exception of: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republik, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia who do require a visa.

Vaccinations

No special vaccinations are required. Our wedding will take place at a dry area. Malaria prevention will not be necessary.

Travel Information

The national airport of Namibia is called “Hosea Kutako International Airport”, which is located 40 min drive from the capital, Windhoek. For plane tickets, we would recommend you to keep a close eye on following websites:

Following airlines fly from Brussels Airport: Qatar Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Condor, KLM, British Airways and Air Namibia.

Car hire

Plenty of worldwide rental companies have a carpark at the airport (Hertz, Budget, Avis etc.). They offer both smaller cars as well as SUV’s. Namibia has a few gravel roads. Although you don’t necessarily need a 4x4 to move around, if you plan to make a tour around the country, we would recommend to choose an SUV for your own comfort. If you plan to go camping, we can recommend to rent an SUV with a local company in Windhoek. Prices are better and equipment, such as a rooftop tent, can be included. You’ll need a pickup service since Windhoek is 45 minutes from the airport but most of the local rental companies include this transfer in their offer. We can recommend Savanna Car Hire.
